Stop the drip!

We replace tap washers to stop your tap dripping We adjust toilet mechanisms to stop it running on. If you discover a drip, call us.

Stop the leak!

Drips become leaks, and leaks become floods. Faulty connections can cause your dishwasher, insinkerator, or washing machine to leak. Fittings fail, and pipes rupture... causing water damage

Stop the flood!

Flooding is a major failure of your plumbing system. A blocked drain can cause your toilet to flood. A slushy wet patch of garden can indicate a burst pipe. Call us if water is gushing out and flooding your property.

Have you got Dux qest pipes in your home?!

Dux qest (often misspelled as ‘Dux quest’ or ‘Ducks quest’) is a type of black plastic pipe that was sold and piped into New Zealand homes in the 1970s and 1980s. Before long dux qest started to fail; developing pinhole fractures in its walls – causing small leaks.

Dux qest is no longer sold, but homeowners have been left with piping that is guaranteed to fail. It’s not a matter of ‘if’ it will fail; it’s a matter of ‘when’ it will fail.

The only feasible long term solution is to cut all of it out of your home before it fails, and replace it; usually with grey polybutylene piping.

However, as a cheaper short term fix, we can just replace a small section of dux qest pipe if it starts leaking.

To remove all the dux qest pipes in your home for a re-pipe, will mean removing the gib plaster off your walls in order to gain access to the pipes.

So the best time to remove dux qest once and for all is when you are planning a major home renovation. Ministry of Plumbing plumbers know how to correctly identify dux qest pipes.

We can give you a quote to replace just a section of failed pipe, or all of your pipes.

Bathroom renovations

When it comes to renovating a bathroom, you don’t always need to employ a builder.

We can do a lot of the building and finishing work to complete the job to the high standards you would expect.

We disconnect and install…

  • Showers and showerheads
  • Showerdomes
  • Baths
  • Toilets, toilet cisterns, toilet seats
  • Vanity hand basins and mirrors
  • Tapware

Laundry renovations

We disconnect and install...

  • Laundry tubs
  • Tapware
  • Washing machines

Kitchen renovations

When it comes to renovating kitchens, we get a lot of builders and joiners calling us to install and connect all the new pipework for their customers.

We disconnect and install...

  • Kitchen sinks
  • Dishwashers
  • Insinkerators
  • Sink water filters
  • Fridge ice makers
  • Gas cooker hobs

"Anthony goes beyond the call of duty, eg. an innovative solution to a shower over a bath which saved me megabucks and avoided having to gut the bathroom, putting a bigger sink insert into an existing granite sink bench, finding toilet seats for weird toilets - all these were fiddly, time consuming jobs; I can't imagine any other plumber going to such trouble. The solutions have all been top quality and done very quickly, even while having to involve manufacturers. Anthony is a great communicator and excellent at coordinating these jobs."

Blocked Drains and Drainlaying

Keep your wastewater and your stormwater draining away

We are experts at locating blockages and breaks in your drains, with our CCTV drain inspection video camera.

If the drain is not broken we can put our high pressure drain water-jetter to work, to water jet the blockage clear.

We save you unnecessary dig-up work by accurately locating exactly where to start digging.

This is a saving of time and money and effort.

We locate sewer and storm water drains and mark it on-site, so earthworks engineers can proceed.

Blocked drains can occur for a number of reasons:

  • Foreign objects in the drains
  • Waste build up
  • Tree roots growing into drains
  • Seismic movement
  • Misaligning of joints
  • Deterioration of aging pipes.
